Farewell to the Ted

And as a Mets fan I can say good riddance. Turner Field, named after the Braves previous owner Ted Turner, was a house of horrors for the Mets over its’ twenty seasons, 1997-2016.  Fortunately my one visit to Turner Field in 2005 resulted in a Mets W.  It was a match-up of future Hall of Fame pitchers Pedro Martinez and John Smoltz.  Thanks to the power of technology I recently found highlights of the game on YouTube.  John Smoltz tied a career high with 15 strikeouts but was out dueled by Pedro who threw a complete game 2 hitter.  Next season the Braves will be moving north to SunTrust Park, located in Cobb County, where a majority of the team’s ticket buying fans reside.  I look forward to visiting SunTrust Park next season and reporting back on what it has to offer.
